DIBRUGARH CENTRAL EXCISE General Information : The Dibrugarh Central Excise Commissionerate was created w.e.f. 01.11.2002 vide Notification No.22/2002-CE(NT) dated 04.06.2002, with 5 Divisions and 31 Ranges consequent upon bifurcation of the erstwhile Shillong Commissionerate. Subsequently, vide Notification No.47/2008-CE(NT) dated 01.12.2008 Guwahati Central Excise Commissionerates was created by bifurcating the existing Shillong and Dibrugarh Commissionerates and now there are 4 (four) Divisions and 24 Ranges under Dibrugarh Commissionerate. The Jurisdiction of the Dibrugarh Central Excise Commissionerate extends over the districts of Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Sivasagar of the state of Assam and the districts of Tirap, Changlang, Aizawl, Lohit, Lower Dibang Valley, Dibang Valley of the state of Arunachal Pradesh and the districts of the Mokokchung, Longleng, Mon, Tuensang of the state of Nagaland. The Commissionerate Headquarters is in Dibrugarh. The 4 (four) divisions under the Commissionerate are located at Dibrugarh, Digboi, Tinsukia & Jorhat. The Divisional Headquarters are located in District Headquarters except Digboi and is connected with Road, Rail and Air communication..
